VOA Releases Directory of Family-Based Residential Substance Use Disorder Treatment Programs
Volunteers of America and Wilder Research, with the support of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, have released a national directory of Residential Substance Use Disorder Treatment Programs for Parents with Children. The Family First Prevention Services Act has elevated the importance of these programs in better supporting these children: effective October 1, 2018, states could begin receiving Title IV-E foster care maintenance payments for children placed in family-based residential treatment programs with their parents just as they do for placement in traditional foster placements. This tool is available to public and private child welfare agencies, substance use treatment providers, and other community partners to help families in need of treatment find help.Â
