New NYTD Survey Results

The Children’s Bureau recently released a data brief on findings from the National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD) of 17 year-olds surveyed in 2011, and follow-up survey data at ages 19 and 21. Outcomes were assessed in financial self-sufficiency, educational attainment, connection with adults, experience with homelessness, high-risk behaviors, and access to health insurance. The findings suggest that youth experiencing positive outcomes generally maintained these outcomes at age 19 and 21. However, a proportion of youth reported an increase in negative outcomes including homelessness and not having any health insurance. Click here to review the data brief.
